Scott Mueller's Ultimate A+ Certification Kit
Published in Hardcover by MacMillan Publishing Company (December, 1998)
Authors: Scott Mueller, Charles Brooks, and Scott Berkel
Average review score:

EVERYTHING you NEED is in THIS KIT!
This kit COMPLETELY covers EVERYTHING you NEED to ace the A+ exam. It also includes an excellent PC Repair Manual and software with over 1000 practice questions. Most important, it offers you the KNOWLEDGE you need to get a great job OR to start your own PC business (or both). I plan to use it to teach a HIGH SCHOOL class in PC Repair starting Fall '00. My goal will be to have my students A+ certified by the end of the school year. For newbies, I would suggest 90 days of study for each of the 2 tests (this is the max amount of time allowed between tests). The tests cost approximately $100 each. I DO NOT recommend the DUMMIES series. My background: CSCI Instructor, Technology Coordinator, Technical Specialist, User Support Analyst.

WOW!! What an incredible package for a GREAT price!!!!
If you are at all interested in attaining your A+ professional designation this is the only set of books that you will need. Scott is one of the most knowledgeable PC hardware tech's in the world.

Excellent.
Hands down the most comprehensive set of A+ Certification prep tools available. Meyer's book fails on DOS/Windows. Jones and Landes could have done better. And both Gilster and Groth have a tendency to oversimplify. This is the only suite that will satisfy the knowledge hungry soul. But buyer beware...if you lack either ambition or aptitude, go with the books written by the previously mentioned authors. With "Ultimate...", Mueller, Brooks, and Berkel go beyond what is required to past the tests...they give you what is required to succeed outside in the real, working world. For those who demand only the most comprehensive of study tools, this is indeed the "Ultimate A+ Certification Kit".

Secrets of the Gathering Darkness
Published in Paperback by Thomas Nelson (January, 1996)
Authors: Barbara Scott and Carrie Younce
Average review score:

I LOVE IT!!!!!
This book is the best book I've read in a long time(besides Sedona Storm)! I love it and hope everyone else who reads it feels the same.

EXCELLENT!
This book was filled with action and kept the images right before my eyes. I found myself praising God with the angels, praying with the saints and rebuking the enemy at every hand. This (and Sedona Storm) should be a movie!

I was also surprised but glad to see in the author notes that someone else had "experienced" Eckankar. That acknowledgement by Barbara Scott helped me know that what I'd gone through in those years really happened. Thank you for your truthfulness and thanks to Thomas Nelson for publishing both books.

God bless and I hope the sequel is out very, very soon.

readable and believable
Thoroughly enjoyable! Leaves you anxious for the promised sequel....A great writing team that moves the story at a fast understandable pace. (When is the next book due?)

Shakespeare and the Book
Published in Paperback by Cambridge University Press (October, 2001)
Author: David Scott Kastan
Average review score:

amazingly good read!
This is just plain fun--or not so plain, but amazingly enjoyable for something so filled with new and surprising information. Kastan writes well, seemingly knows everything that has been written on this vast topic, and makes it accessible and exciting.

fun and informative
Shakespeare as we read him! This is wonderful! hard to believe so much information could be made so available and fun to read. Well written and a good looking book--and the price is right!

a must
this is informative, wittily written, and filled with surprises about how Shakespeare became "Shakespeare"; it is also a beautifully produced book, as one would expect from Cambridge.
The paperback makes a great gift for anyone interested in Shakespeare or in the history of the book, even as that history moves into the digital era. A great buy and a must for any college or good high school library.

Shipkiller
Published in Paperback by Fawcett Books (November, 1985)
Author: Justin Scott
Average review score:

A must read for any sailor
This is a fantastic novel of sailing written by someone who truly understands the sport. I can't recommend it highly enough. An apparent (but uncredited) sequel is "Fire and Ice" by Paul Garrison. Not quite as good as The Shipkiller, but a fine novel none the less.

Authentic sailing fiction, an rare treat
It is a shame this book is out of print. Good modern sailing fiction is rare. The protagonist knows sailboats and carries out his revenge in an exciting and, more importantly, plausable tale. The book is a little dated in its treatment of the Iranians (It was written when the Shah ruled) but its best quality is its authenticity. A great read for sailors. Why must we go back to the 1800s for good sailing fiction ?

It took me into the heart of the characters.
I've spent time on the ocean, and I've built sailboats. This book conveys the beauty, fear, and wonder of the ocean as well as any sailor's epitaph. The sorrow, joy, and hatred felt by the main character, and and the vengience with which he pursues his antagonist is riveting. My pulse raced for hours on end at the climax of the struggle.

The Soul Beyond Darkness
Published in Hardcover by VirtualBookworm.com Publishing Inc. (November, 2002)
Author: Scott E. Ebright
Average review score:

A Soul beyond Compare
Yes, I liked this book. I finished reading it in under 24 hours. That is a compliment all by itself! I thoroughly enjoyed the story and would definitely recommend it to anybody who likes a good believable ghost story; however the first three chapters are slow but interesting. Then, the story really grips you and demands you continue reading it to find out what happens next. You can't put it down. I found the characters to be everyday people that you can empathize with and I would read more books by this author if and when they become available.

The first real good story I've read in years.
First real good story I've read in years.
I was very, very impressed with this story. I liked many aspects of this story. It was more than a typical horror story. Also, this is a book somebody can read and enjoy without the vulgarity found in so many other books. I recommend this to anyone like me who hasn't had time to read alot of books, but when I do, it had better be good!

Intriguing! Couldn't put it down!
I read this book during a week I was supposed to be studying for final exams (4th year broadcasting major). I just kept on and on, reading one chapter after the next because everytime I tried to stop thinking about this story, it kept coming back into my head so I couldn't concentrate on anything else. This book was a lot different than any other mystery or horror book I ever read. It was very suspenseful without being extreme or gross like most of those other books of the same genre. Maybe that's because this was a true story. Anyway, I liked everything about this story - especially the characters. The author (Ebright) seemed to know just when to change scenes or add a little levity here and there so I wouldn't get too worn out by the heavy subject matter of ghosts or demonic entities. It seemed to be a good balance...I was hooked into reading the whole book within two-a-half days! And the surprise I discovered was that unlike any other scary book I've read, this one left me feeling more positive about myself and my own spirituality. (Incidentally, I used this book as a basis for my semester project to adapt a book to a one hour screenplay.)

The Soul in Balance
Published in Paperback by EPM Communications, Inc. (June, 1998)
Authors: Alexandra K. Scott, Heddy F. Reid, and Washington National Cathedral
Average review score:

Lovely, inspiring images both visual and philosophical
The Soul In Balance: The Gardens Of Washington National Cathedral pairs photographs with short quotations from Biblical, Philosophical, and literary works thereby creating lovely, inspiring images both visual and philosophical. Alexandra K. Scott's color photographs pair beautifully with quotations selected by Heddy F. Reid and New Testament passages chosen by Frederica Isabelle Scott. The Soul In Balance is an ideal gift book to commemorate special occasions, and to browse through in search of heart's ease and the spirit's inspiration.

A wonderful book for people in distress
I had been in hospitals for 12 months when I read Alexandra Scott's book. It was so peaceful and beautiful, while the text and pictures enhanced one another. For people in distress with little energy, it is balm for the self.

A book that excites the eye and opens the mind
Scott's photographs are exquisite and beautifully married to simple but sophisticated text by her co-author, Reid. In an era of "Chicken Soup for the Soul (which I also occasionally read and find helpful), The Soul in Balance is a visual delight and a book whose messages are challenging, thought-provoking, and soothing. This book would make a perfect gift for almost anyone whose life is too hectic, fragmented, and in need of some inner direction. Scott's understanding and appreciation of the natural world are reflective and direct descendants of the best 18th century traditions. But no mistake, she is a complete, late-20th century sensibility with an remarkable eye and camera technique that excels.

Special Edition Using CorelDRAW 9
Published in Paperback by Que (23 July, 1999)
Authors: Steve Bain, Steven Bain, and D. Scott Campbell
Average review score:

A Superb Guide for Beginners and Experts Alike.
Steve Bain's book on CorelDRAW ranks among the best books I've read on any technical subject. The organization is excellent; essential tools are named and described in the first few chapters, and then explored in detail later along with the remaining tools and functions. The author's command of English is wonderful; the book is clear, concise, coherent, thorough, and readable. I have been concurrently reading through this book while I use CorelDRAW at work, and am enlightened at every turn of the page. The desire to praise this book (& author: thanks!) inspired me to write my first review for Amazon.

Helped me understand some complicated concepts
I recently bought CorelDRAW 9 together with Steve Bain's book titled "Special Edition" Using CorelDraw 9. I am finding the book *very* useful in helping me to better understand the complexities of CorelDRAW 9.

Great Teaching Tool!!! A+++
This is one of the best-designed books I've used. The notes, tips, and cautions are plentiful, which really helped to enhance the topics. There is also a quick reference to special features called Power tips. A large tear out section of keyboard commands is included in the front. I had no idea there were so many shortcuts.

I found the illustration techniques uniques and extremely helpful. The tables not only show the function of a tool but where to find more information if needed. The whole book has cross references to other sections, great help.

If you are looking for one book on CorelDRAW 9, you can't go wrong with this one, it is excellent!

Sedona Storm
Published in Paperback by Thomas Nelson (January, 1994)
Authors: Barbara Scott and Carrie Younce
Average review score:

must have
Great book, even 2nd time around reading it!

Riveting!
This is the best Christian book, of its genre, that I have ever read and I have a library of them. It was a definite page turner. But it is not one for the faint-hearted. This is a book for a strong Christian, even so, it will have you praying hard before you shut your eyes at night. It is so insightful and the way that Scott and Younce give the spiritual and physical world a look, it opens your eyes to what the world might actually be like. I have this book so worn from use that I might have to go out and replace it. Then I can give my copy back to my mother, who lent it to me years ago. If you are into suspense, action, romance, and psychological thrilling, this is THE BOOK for you

GOOD!
I'm very impressed with this book. I find it excellent! This is the second time I read it. It just makes you wonder what the name of YOUR guardian angel is!! :)

Serious Tennis
Published in Unknown Binding by Human Kinetics (E) (November, 1999)
Authors: Scott Williams and Randy Petersen
Average review score:

Best tennis book I have
EXCELLENT BOOK !!

I have a few tennis books from Vic Braden and Brad Gilbert which are not bad but this book is by far the best.

So many club players concentrate only on swinging which is why SMART system is tremendously useful to anyone serious about tennis.

For instance, in the past, I never know there is such a great difference of using dominant eye versus non-dominant eye.
I now can see the ball more clearly and quickly.

Serious Tennis Helps You Get Serious About Your Tennis.
This book helped me improve parts of my game that I just could n't improve further with more court time or match play. The expert advice from leaders in the field of professional tennis allowed me to explore avenues of improving my game that are usually reserved as resources of the pro players. Williams' SMARTS system helped me streamline my stroke production and the expert advice helped me to hone my skills into a completely different level of play. Finally some refreshing and useful tennis reading that you can actually apply to your game! Pictures are great. My favorite chapter, because I find the info in it sticks in my head when I'm playing: Performing Under Pressure - Chapter 9. I would like to take a clinic with this author. Will probably carry this book with me to some matches. I'm looking forward to the updated edition to Serious Tennis!

S.M.A.R.T.S.= Great Tennis Technique!
This book introduces and reinforces this concept known as S.M.A.R.T.S., which stands for Seeing, Movement, Adjustment, Rotation, Transfer and Swing, for solid tennis strokes. While other instructions books in general tend to focus more on the strokes, this book emphasises on the full spectrum of the shots, starting with spotting the directions of the balls from bodily movements (Seeing). It's a book which also combines many other facets of the game, including shot selection/troubleshooting, equipment, drills, playing under pressure and in different conditions, and lots more into a comprehensive yet very readable book. For beginners and advance players alike, this book IMHO is a must-have. FYI, I'm a 4.0-4.5 all-courter.

Special Forces Guerrilla Warfare Manual
Published in Paperback by Paladin Press (01 March, 2000)
Author: Wimberley Scott
Average review score:

edited army ranger manual
smal unit tactics are taken right out of the ranger handbook, it has some extra features, more detailed platoon/squad formations. if u are interested in spec. ops, read this book

Yes!
Wow... this book is DEFINITELY for Academic study ONLY! This book DETAILS the U.S. Army's Special Force's ability to Train, Organize and Equip Rag tag people into a fighting unit, double quick time.

Unlike many "manuals" this one not only covers Small unit tactics and training, but also covers setting up intelligence, conducting Psy-ops and then organizing a working political system. This is important to long term success, since it saves you from having to re-fight the same battles over and over.

The book walks you through the staging and completion of the first acts of Rebellion all the way up to "Overthrow". It'll definitely point you in directions for further research!

Good Enough To Start A War
Anybody who likes to wage a war I recommend to purchase this book. To see how many you can kill and destroy is superior to this book.
